In partnership with the World Women Trade Fair and the FWEAN the European chapter of EVE-olution Foundation after 21 days in Europe welcomed in Paris 7 Women entrepreneurs exporter of Pashmina, tea, clothing, traditional metal handicraft...to attend workshops in communication, visual graphic, inventory managemement and revenue recognition and guided visits to luxury boutiques and stores.

This program is designed for women from developing nations such as Nepal that have an enormous impact in their county’s economy. Nepalese Pasmina exporter said that for her paying taxes means sponsoring their goverment to care more about services given to the population such as water and electricity.

Dilma Rousseff Brazil President

Dilma Rousseff became the first woman as an elected Brazil President (Brazil is the largest economy in Latin America).

Rousseff won 55.8 percent of valid votes while the opposition candidate, Jose Serra, pocketed 44.2 percent of the vote. Rousseff is scheduled to be sworn in as president of the country on January 1, 2011.

Dilma Rousseff said in his victory speech on Monday (1 / 11) "we will not rest while many Brazilian citizens are starving" said Rousseff. "Eradication of extreme poverty is my goal."

Warsaw June 18-19: “Women for Poland, Poland for Women” - was the main motto of 2nd Congress of Polish Women (II Kongres Polskich Kobiet) that took place in Warsaw. The event gathered over 3000 of professional polish women.

BEIJING — For businesswomen gathered at the 20th Global Summit of Women here last week, the title of a talk on the final day of the three-day event, “Working Effectively With Men,” was irresistible.

Women have wondered how to do that all their lives, the conference's organizer, Irene Natividad, had joked earlier in an interview. “I've been at this for two decades, and it keeps popping up,” the longtime women?s rights advocate said. “So I thought, on this, our 20th summit, I'll have a stab at it.”

Around a century after women won the right to enter parliaments in countries ranging from Azerbaijan to the United States, they are still greatly underrepresented in corporate boardrooms, according to a preliminary report released at the conference by Corporate Women Directors International, a group based in Washington that promotes women in business, and the World Bank's International Finance Corp.

Women entrepreneurs urged to play role for growth

LAHORE (Pakistan) - Vice President Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry Faisal Iqbal Sheikh has said that the women entrepreneurs need to play their role with greater reliance, self esteem and dedication for the economic growth of the country and for the purpose they should inculcate leadership skills for which the Lahore Chamber of Commerce would continue to play its role.

The LCCI Vice President was speaking at a function arranged in honor of women entrepreneurs here at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry. LCCI former President Mian Shafaqat Ali and Convener Standing Committee on Women Resource Center Nasira Taskeen also spoke on the occasion.
The LCCI Vice President said that no country in world could have prosperity and progress without due participation of women in all spheres of life. He said that it was encouraging that now there was a consensus in Pakistan as well, that the best way to achieve women’s emancipation is through economic independence, which can be achieved through an increased participation of women in economic activity and entrepreneurship. Faisal Iqbal Sheikh said that according to a UN report the economic development is closely related to the advancement of women. “In countries where women have advanced, the economy has usually been steady. By contrast, in countries where women have been restricted, the economy has been stagnant.” The LCCI VP linked the progress of the country with the participation of women in economic activities stating that the women have better chances to excel for having better managerial skills.
Convener LCCI Standing Committee Ms. Nasira Taskeen said that the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry would utilise all its resources to solve the issues being faced by the businesswomen. She said that all measures were being taken to ensure the participation of women entrepreneurs in LCCI foreign delegations or for their participation in foreign exhibitions as they had to face troubles with particular reference to their business visits.
